Marching for preemies, you can help

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Despite an increase in survival among babies born after six months of pregnancy, a new study finds preemies born earlier than that don’t have the same success.

For that reason, this weekend Americans in nearly 1,000 communities, including Grand Junction are lacing up their shoes to walk for babies.

The fundraiser for the March of Dimes is a way for families who have lost a child to honor their memories and also raise awareness and money for preemie research.

Our local walk is Saturday at Lincoln Park. Registration starts 8 a.m.

11 News is a proud sponsor of the March for Babies.
