GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - A local mother and daughter are teaming up to make a difference.
Natalie Sorrentino and Marilyn Gist have been gearing up for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. It's a two day, 40 mile walk from Keystone to Breckenridge.
In order to participate, each walker must raise a minimum of $1,800. If you don't reach the minimum amount, you don't get to walk.
Marilyn has reached her fundraising goal but Natalie needs the help of the community to raise her money.
While the walk is costly, the money spent is well worth it, Natalie says. "That money goes towards grants and they start sending the money out to local, regional and national agencies dealing with breast cancer as soon as the walk is finished."
