Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) --- Numerous car clubs and individuals across Mesa County teamed up to donate forty-five carloads of toys to Community Hospital today.

Participants filled three gurneys with stuffed animals for children in the hospital.

Organizers say that while they have donated toys during the holidays for the past five years, this is only the second time they have donated during the summer.

"We decided to try and get something going so that going so that they could have stuffed animals year round for the kids that go into the emergency room or into the hospital," said event organizer and car enthusiast, Arragon Ecord. "We thought it was a great cause and gives us a great reason to bring our cars out."
