GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) - Downtown Grand Junction was a shopping hot spot today and based on the numbers, it seems many didn't get their shopping fix on Black Friday.
Main Street was crowded with shoppers of all ages. Many were out to support local businesses for "Small Business Saturday."
For the most part, owners said they saw a boost in customers and were very pleased with the community support.
Santa and Mrs. Claus made a visit, and some families were taking rides on carriages.
Occupy Grand Junction was also on Main Street but they weren't protesting. Instead they were encouraging and thanking consumers for shopping at these small businesses.
American Express also rewarded customers with a $25 credit. You must register your American Express card online and then make a purchase at any participating small business.
