It all started near the Clifton City Market, and ended with a crash at the intersection of 28 1/4 Road and North Avenue.
Mesa County deputies said they tried to pull over a car for reportedly speeding, and on a suspicion of DUI.
That's when authorities said the driver took off.
Authorities on scene said the sheriff's office ended the pursuit because the suspect started to drive recklessly at high rates of speed.
Police in the City of Grand Junction then picked up on the pursuit, then broke off the chase.
Officers were set up at different intersections throughout the city in case the suspect decided to give up.
The pursuit came to an end when the suspect crashed into another car at the intersection of 28 1/4 Road and North Avenue.
The suspect was arrested on scene, and his passenger was taken into custody, then to the hospital.
Police said they did not find drugs in the car.
The two were arrested on DUI and felony eluding charges.
Their identities were not released on scene.
Further details were not provided, and will be provided when the become available.
