CSP: 34-year-old Montrose man killed in Whitewater crash

WHITEWATER, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A Montrose man was killed in a crash on Highway 50 in Whitewater Thursday morning, according to authorities.

The Mesa County Coroner said Larry Linn, 34, died of blunt force injuries to the head, and the manner of death was ruled an accident.

It happened around 3:08 a.m. near mile marker 42 on westbound Highway 50.

Colorado State Patrol said a 26-year-old Delta woman, driving an Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight, drove off the the left side of the road into the median, then tried to get back on the road.

Troopers said she that's when rolled twice, coming to rest in the westbound lanes.

Trooper said the male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene scene.The driver suffered serious but not life threatening injuries, according to troopers. She was taken to St. Mary's Hospital.

Their names have not yet been released.

Colorado State Patrol said the two were wearing there seat belts.

Trooper said early investigations found alcohol and/or marijuana may have factored into the crash, but speed did not.

No charges have been filed so far, and the crash remains under investigation.
