Register to vote using the touch of a finger

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- In a little more than a month, voters will decide on some key issues on the Western Slope and around the country, and there's push to get people registered to vote.

The Mesa County Clerk said Colorado is a same-day voter registration state, which means people don't have register prior to Election Day. They can register and cast their ballots all the way up until 7 p.m. on Election Day.

People can register ahead of time on their smartphones by texting 'CO' or 'COLORADO' to 28683.

Election officials said ballots will be mailed out in the first part of October. Election Day is on November 7.
