GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A former School District 51 employee accused of sexually assaulting a teenager is ordered to pay thousands in court fines.
Mandy Scoggins used to be a paraprofessional in the district.
Authorities said Scoggins, 37, allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse twice with a 16-year-old boy at her home earlier in 2016. Scoggins was placed on paid leave in March 2016, and resigned after charges were filed.
She pled guilty to one count of sex assault on an underage victim with a 10-year age difference, as part of a plea deal. In exchange, another charge was dropped.
According to the court, she will have to register as a sex offender and complete five years of probation. She'll also have to pay more than $5,000 in court fines.
A mugshot is not available since she was given a court summons and not arrested.
