GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A Carbondale rancher and attorney is running to replace Representative Scott Tipton in Colorado’s third district.
Karl Hanlon says he's in the best position to understand the needs of the Western Slope. He says Scott Tipton isn't listening and isn't getting the job done for regular citizens.
Hanlon says he's running on a centrist platform, which means he doesn't subscribe to party lines.
"We can work across those cultural divides, across those platform divides if you will, the divisiveness in Washington simply is not an answer for us. What we need to do is find centrist candidates who can move the agenda forward, focus on what needs to get done and actually get the real work done on the ground," said Karl Hanlon, (D) candidate for CO-3.
Hanlon is currently the city manager for Glenwood Springs. Most of his legal practice has been focused on water and the Colorado River.
