Libertarian Party trying to grow in Mesa County

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The Libertarian Party of Mesa County held an informational event Monday night at Old Chicago.

It gave people the chance to come out and ask questions and find out what the party is about, or even get more involved in the party.

Libertarians have a guiding principal that government should leave individuals alone unless they're aggressive towards others.

"It doesn't need to pick up your trash or deliver your mail or deliver your water, all that can be done by the private sector and that's the main way we're different," said Marc Mantoni, a volunteer with the Libertarian Party.

The group plans on meeting once a month over the next three months.

They plan on meeting on the second Wednesday of every month at Old Chicago at North Avenue and 2nd Street in Grand Junction at 5:30 p.m.
