Palisade discusses challenges, goals of Iowa Avenue project

PALISADE, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Palisade town officials held an open house Wednesday about the Iowa Avenue project.

Frank Watt, the town's public works director, talked about the goals and challenges of the project, but also the benefits after it's finished.

Watt said the road needs utility work, sidewalks added and an overlay so that it's a smoother driving surface.

The project is the only road Palisade is currently working on, and it's already out to bid. It's scheduled to take anywhere from 90 to 120 days to finish.

"This is about a $670,000 project. So if it does go forward, it will take our financial resources for the year," said Watt.

Watt said work could start as early as the end of April.
