GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- The Redlands Rotary Club raised more than $12,000 at the 29th annual St. Patrick’s Day massacre. It's a massacre of members' checkbooks, and it's all part of a fundraising effort.
For years, the Redlands Rotary Club has teamed up with Mesa County Partners, which offers services to youth at risk.
The club got together for a St. Patty’s Day brunch, to raise money for the organization so it can continue efforts.
"It gives us that extra money to help provide services to the kids, to allow them to have healthy activities in our community, and provide mentors who have been screened,” said Jill Derrieux, with Mesa County Partners.
The brunch was only open to members of the Redlands Rotary Club and Mesa County Partners.
In addition to the $12,000 raised, more checks coming in the mail.
