Spring time temperatures have arrived in Western Colorado, and we could be close to the 80s by the end of the week.
WATCH: KKCO 11 News forecaster Krista Nobilo's forecast for the next few days.
The warmer temperatures and forecasted winds have meant a Red Flag Warning has been issued for the Grand Junction area for Thursday afternon.
Here are the details from the National Weather Service:
Dangerous fire weather conditions Thursday afternoon and evening over west-central Colorado.
Strong winds and very low relative humidity are expected Thursday afternoon and early evening ahead of an approaching cold front.
Winds will gust between 25 and 40 mph at the same time as the relative humidity lowers to less than 15 percent from early Thursday afternoon through sunset Thursday. Some fuels are quite dry in west central Colorado and will be receptive to rapid fire growth and spread.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
