GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The long awaited day finally arrived. After months of fundraising and countless hours of practice, the Grand Junction Challenger Baseball team and their buddies from Colorado Mesa University are Little League World Series bound.

The gang all gathered at CMU on Wednesday afternoon for a special sendoff as they head to Williamsport, Pennsylvania for their exhibition game.

In case you didn't already know, we got a really special group on our hands. They'll be the first team to play the tournament's annual exhibition game on the main field in front of thousands of spectators.

Emotions and excitement were at an all-time high. Just ask challenger baseball player, Sadie Beale and her buddy, Bligh Madris,

“Super excited like awesomeness excited, let's ask him now,” said Sadie Beale.

“I’m really excited for this trip, the Little League World Series is something that I’ve always wanted to experience. I’ve always wanted to go to Williamsport ever since I was a kid playing Little League,” said Bligh Madris.
