HS Football: Fruita Ready for First Round Match-Up

By  |

Grand Junction, Colo Unlike the warriors the Wildcats do have some playoff experience to lean on headed into their round one match-up with No. 7 Monarch.

Fruita Monument made a quarterfinals appearance in 2015 before getting the boot from ThunderRidge.

Head Coach Todd Casebier says this group has also done a great deal of growing up during the regular season.

“This group is battle tested just like last year’s. You know when you get through this much football in ten games we've had some real successful games and some tough ones and that would sum this team up. We started slow but we're finishing strong and it’s all about surviving another week.”

According to the RPI standings the Wildcats had the most difficult schedule in 4-A this year, so they've already been a part of a few playoff caliber match-ups.

“This time around we're building more as a team and we all kind are of in a way we’re becoming more of one like person together so we're all working together just to build a better bond so we can perform better on the team or on the field."
