GJ Coyotes are championship bound

The Grand Junction Coyotes Hockey Club under-10 squirt team won their first three games of the state playoffs to earn a spot at the championships in Denver this weekend.

They scored 21 goals in those three games. If they win their next two games they'll become state champions.

The kids are learning to play the game and having fun doing it.

"We just promote fun, play the right way, good sportsmanship, and they work hard,” assistant coach, Walter Fox says. “We work them hard but it’s working. We made it past the first round and we're on to the second round and hopefully we can bring home a championship."
