CMU Softball: Lady Mavs return to form

The CMU Softball team suffered an early season conference loss on the road to a lesser talented Chadron St. team. Since then CMU has won four straight games, three of those by mercy rule.

"The trip kind of shook us up a little bit,” junior Maggie Manwarren says. “But we got home and had a day off. As soon as we got back on the field we were ready to go. I think it showed against Adams St. and I think we're ready to go now for highlands."

Now the team will hold a four-game series with New Mexico Highlands this weekend. Head coach Ben Garcia says that Chadron St. loss was necessary, despite being unwanted.

"You don't want to lose a game to learn a valuable scenario of what you need to do,” Garcia says. “But we did in that case and I think it’s really helped push us through."
