Video board headed to Suplizio

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A video board will be installed at Suplizio Field this spring, just in time for the JUCO World Series.

The $180,000 video board will be 27 feet long and 16 feet tall. It's slated to go directly to the right of the current scoreboard.

It'll have the ability to show replays, video highlights, promotions and advertising, player info and more.

All funds for the board were donations. The Grand Junction Rockies contributed $75,000, CMU donated $20,000, and JUCO paid the rest of the cost. An anonymous donation of $75,000 was also made.

It will also be portable. So not only can it be used for baseball, but during football season it can be transferred right over to Stocker Stadium.

GJ Rockies President Joe Kubly talked about how it'll enhance the fan experience.

"Hopefully that's another way we can create memories,” Kubly said. It's improvements like this, that goes to the sustainability of this ball park and making it first class."
