Colorado mesa softball had their 24-game win streak come to an end this past weekend after a 2-1 loss on the road to Regis. However the Lady Mavs bounced back.
"We struggled there towards the beginning but we ended up coming together as a team,” sophomore pitcher Kimbri Herring says. “Although we didn't really play our best we did our best to do what we could to win."
They won the last three games of the series. Now CMU hasn't been in a lot of close game situations let alone losses. It was only their fifth of the year. The team says it was good to test their resiliency.
"It left a really bitter feeling,” head coach Ben Garcia says. “But we got together and the girls were really responsive. We said, 'all we could control was the next game.' to win three after that against a very good team, very good pitcher. I was very pleased with the way we responded to come back."
