Being a school administrator can sometimes be a difficult task, but for East Middle school Assistant Principal Larry Padgett he has a way to cope with it.
He is this week’s athlete of the week.
Larry Padgett is a competitive powerlifter
“At my age heck to get out of bed without aches and pains is an accomplishment, “said Padgett.
Two weeks ago, Larry set a national powerlifting record in West Virginia at the National Meet putting up more than 350 pounds, and coming just short of 402 pounds in the Masters Age level of competition. Padgett now owns a Colorado State and National bench press record.
Padgett says, “being a principal is a stressful job at times and so you have to do something for you and I find that for me in going to the gym and working out."
