The Lunch Lizard, Kids Aid and Clifton Elementary School partnered with the Grand Junction Rockies to hold a mini-camp.
The team gave baseball tips to the kids who attended.
"The kids are our future. So it's very important to give back to them because one day they're going to be running the world," says Rockies' pitcher, Derrik Watson.
The young baseball players also received a free meal from the Lunch Lizard as well as a food bag for the weekend courtesy of the Kids Aid Backpack Program.
"I just want to know that I gave an impact on the community to some of these kids who want to continue pursuing baseball and enjoy the game," Rockies' pitcher, Michael Agis says.
This was the first of two summer mini-camps. The next one will be from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on July 21st at Clifton Elementary School. The event is free for kids 18 and under. No registration is required.
