GJ Rockies: Team beats first-place 'Stangs

The Grand Junction Rockies began their seven-game road trip on the right foot as they top the first-place Billings Mustangs, 12-7.

The Rockies offense was key in this one as the team scored at least one run in the first five innings.

Casey Golden and Ramon Marcelino each go 3-for-5 from the plate. Golden added six RBI's and two home runs in the winning effort.

Shael Mendoza added a homer of his own as he continues his hot hitting with a .420 batting average.

The team is now 9-14 and has won four of their last five games.

Game two of the series will be at 7:05 P.M. from Dehler Park in Billings, MT.
