Local Sports: Grand Junction hosts WSL Swim Finals

With near triple digit temperatures outside hundreds of western slope kids jumped in the water this weekend at the WSL swim meet here in Grand Junction.

It was the final day of action at this year’s long course Western Slope League championships at the El Pomar natatorium, and also the last chance for swimmers to qualify for the state meet.

This weekend saw nearly 300 swimmers aging from 8 to 18 taking to the pool trying to take home a league title.

This was the last regular season meet for the swimmers before the state championships held in Fort Collins over the next two weekends.
