The Grand Junction Rockies hosted its first ever golf tournament at Redlands Mesa Golf Course today.
Over 60 golfers participated including Rockies' players and coaches. There was a silent auction as well.
"It's something that we wanted to do," Rockies' Assistant GM Mick Ritter says. "And as far as with Grand Junction Rockies, it's just another way that we can get out into the community and help support."
The tourney was to benefit CMU's Sports Management program.
"Being able to give these guys a leg up and a little help in their career path," Rockies' promotional staff member John Kelley says. "I think it's very noble for the Rockies and I'm just honored to be a part of it."
