Fruita Monument looks to make another playoff run this season.
Todd Casebier's team finished 2016 at 7-5 overall and second in the Mountain League at 4-1. They also come in as the No. 7 ranked team in Class 4A.
After losing Kyle Fineran, junior Zach Rush will be the guy under center this season.
"I feel good about where he's at physically," Casbier says. "We're excited about him. But again, he needs the guys around him to do a good job. It's always a team thing for us. Zach knows that."
Rush only played in seven games last season due to injury. But he's back and better than ever.
"I just try to put in as much work as I could this summer and get back the little bit that I lost last year being out and stuff," Rush says. "I definitely had a lot of help from all the other teammates too. They push me along. So that was nice.
