HS Football: Warriors rebuilding in 2017

Central High school football under head coach Shawn Marsh heads into this season with over 80 kids out for this year’s team.

The Warriors are coming off of a 6-5 season in 2016 season, which included a loss to Chatfield in the first round of the playoffs.

The offensive side of the ball will have a new look this year with the graduation of standout quarterback EJ Barrera. EJ threw for over 2,700 yards and 29 touchdowns through the air a year ago.

Defensively the Warriors will be stacked returning their top 5 leading tacklers from a year ago. All of the top 5 bring in over 100 tackles and this year the team is excited for the rebuilding challenge.

“Every year you graduate kids that you don’t want to see go and that's the cool thing about coaching high school football is kids go out and other kids come in. So, we are really excited about the group we have this year, “said Head Coach Shawn Marsh.
