CMU Mavericks: Mavericks blowout Western State in opener

It only Colorado Mesa 52 seconds in the opener to get on the scoreboard as Eystin Salum connected with Marcus Hines for the 30 TD pass. As CMU cruised to the opener win 49-23.

The Mavs weren't done in the quarter as they went on to lead 21-3 after the first quarter.

In the first half Salum threw four touchdowns and the defense only gave up three points on a Max Smith was successful on a 48 yard field goal

The Mavs had the ball only 25 minutes in the ballgame, but still racked up 499 total yards offensively.

Colorado Mesa will be off until they go on the road for the first time taking on the Chadron State Eagles on September 9th.
