CMU Football: Mavs rumble to Chadron

Colorado Mesa football racked up 499 yards of total offense with seven touchdowns in their 49-23 win over Western State on Thursday.

Five of those scores were through the air with two on the ground.

The Mavs shift focus to Chadron State who completed a comeback victory from 16 points down against Fort Lewis.

"It's going to be game that we need to win up in the trenches," head coach Russ Martin says. "They like to pound the ball and hammer it. It gives them a lot of different choices as far as their offensive situation. And defensively they're going to try and come off the ball and create some havoc up front. But I think the thing is our guys are ready for that kind of challenge."

Kickoff for Saturday's game on the road against Chadron St. is set for noon.
