Following the Mavericks first win of the season on Friday, the team was looking to continue their win streak heading into Sunday's game against the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers. Colorado Mesa University had no problem doing that with the 2-0 victory Sunday afternoon.
Amanda Wenzel got the scoring started for the Mavericks in the 12th minute with her second goal of the season. The second goal came in the 23rd minute from Alexis Allard on a header for her first of the season.
CMU outshot UNK 15-3 on the day, including 6-1 in shots on goal. The Mavericks also finished with 2 more corner kicks than the Loppers (6-4).
The Mavericks will be off until Thursday when they play Rollins College before opening up Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play on Sunday against Westminster.
