Last week Central football pushed No. 7 Fruita Monument to the brink.
A Landon Brown pick-six was the difference.
"It kind of hurt to lose that game," junior safety Shaun Stepisnik says. "I think it kind of drove us to be more focused and to work harder so it doesn't happen anymore."
Other than that the Warriors threw for 221 yards and rushed for 148.
Defensively they held the Fruita running attack to just one touchdown all game.
"I heard one of the kids say we're tired of celebrating losses," head coach Shawn Marsh says. "And me too. But what I am celebrating is the effort. I think our kids played with great effort last week. We still have to be able to overcome things to be a very good football team."
Central will head to Montrose to take on the Indians on Friday at 7 P.M.
