HS Football: Mike Sirko named Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient

Over the weekend Grand Junction High School head football coach Mike Sirko was award the Lifetime Achievement award by Western State University.

Sirko played football at school in the 1970's before graduating in 1975, and beginning his coaching career.

That career began at Hotchkiss high school as an assistant coach in 1976, before taking over the head job three years after.

The next thirty years are all history as he had racked up over 240 wins at five different high school in the state of Colorado. That ranks seventh all time in win for the state.

Sirko is currently in his second season as the head man for the Grand Junction Tigers.
