CMU Women's Volleyball: Lady Mavs focus on road tests

CMU Women's Volleyball will travel to Colorado Christian on Friday and No. 22 Colorado School of Mines on Saturday.

"Winning on the road is a big deal," sophomore setter Samantha Ritter says. "I think playing at their house is fun and it'll be a great atmosphere. We'll just have to step it up."

CMU played these two teams in back-to-back home games last tear. The Lady Mavs were victorious in both.

CMU has won four of their last five games. After winning consecutive road matches last weekend against CSU Pueblo and New Mexico Highlands the team still thinks they can play better.

"If you look at the stats we lost our first set at both places," head coach Dave Fleming says. "And we played really ugly at New Mexico Highlands. I thought that was junior high team in the first set. We just got to get better. We got to get more consistent. If we go into the gyms this weekend and play at that level they're going to stomp on us 3-0. So we got to play a little bit better from 0-0 and all the way through."

Friday's game at CCU is a 7 P.M. start while Saturday's contest with Mines begins at 5 P.M.
