The defense continues to be the answer for the lady Mavericks so far this season. On Saturday night against Northern New Mexico , CMU held their fifth straight opponent under 50 points in the 92-48 win over the Eagles.
The 92 points Colorado Mesa scored sets a new season high blowing out their old total of 71 against Midwestern State.
Junior Jaylyn Duran led the Mavs in scoring poring in a game high 18 points all coming in the first three quarters. The bench was used for the lady Mavs as 44 of their 92 points came from non-starters.
It was freshman Sierra McNicol's that led the charge chipping in 9 points and 6 board in just 16 minutes of play.
There isn't much time for the Mavs to recoup as they will be right back into action on Tuesday beginning RMAC playing hosting Western State at 5:30 P.M at Brownson arena.
