HS Wrestling: Paonia tops Palisade

Although both teams didn't have their full squad wrestle Paonia took care of Palisade, 46-36.

This comes just one night the Bulldogs compete in Thursday's Varsity Jackpot Duals at home.

Ridgeway, a state champion from Paonia, thinks matches like these can help his team in the long run.

"Tomorrow I think there's going to be some really good matches," head coach Tanner Ridgeway says. "Not just with Palisade but Junction is just loaded across the board. I think Hunter Tobiasson and Terrance Williams will be a good match. There's just a bunch of them across the board. I think that's the most important thing right now is just getting good matches. It's all practice for February. That's what we want, the best matches."

The Jackpot Duals begin at 6 P.M. on Thursday at Palisade High School and will feature host Palisade, Grand Junction, Central and FRuita Monument.
