Central softball senior Tori Schuman becomes the third Warrior committing to play at the collegiate level this offseason.
Schuman signed with Utah State University Eastern.
"Feels like home.," Schuman says. "It's pretty close to my family too so I feel comfortable with being that far away. The softball team is very sweet. I like the coach. I think it's going to be a good fit for me."
She joins teammates Jordyn Hays, who signed with Colorado Mesa, and Hailey Schaneman, who signed with Otero Junior College.
"We had two or three freshman that came up over to me during the signing and said 'that's going to me in three years,' head coach Scott Else says. "They see the older girls sign, they hear about it, they hear about the recruiting trips and hopefully it steamrolls. It does help us a lot."
Last season Schuman batted .41 with one home run and 13 RBI's.
She helped Central to a fourth straight Southwestern League title and a fourth straight state playoff appearance.
