Under head coach John Holmes the Plateau Valley Cowboys girls’ basketball team is off to a good start sitting at 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the league.
The Cowboys have just two seniors on their roster coming off of a 6-14 season last year.
"Were not very big but we are very athletic and any of our kiddos can score on any given night. The biggest goal is for them to believe in each other," said head coach John Holmes.
One of the seniors Cedar Mitchell leads the team offensively averaging a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds per game. The team thinks this could be the year that the seniors help them over the hump.
They Cowboys will be back in action on Friday night taking on the Paonia Eagles.
