GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) To succeed in the sport of soccer you have to have endurance, skills, and determination out on the pitch. Grand Junction Fire FC player Kylah Celayeta has shown the ability to do that and so much at the age of 13.
This season Kylah made the jump up to 14 and under age group and has made the most of the opportunity.
"She has won the respect of her teammates. So much that they decided to give her the most nominations for captain this year. Which is a fantastic opportunity for her,"said Fire FC head coach Danny Molineaux.
Trying out for a new team is never easy, especially when you are a year younger than your teammates. Its an honor she doesn't take lightly.
"It was a really big honor from my team. Tryout out up and making the team and being a captain was a really big honor. It took a lot of hard work,"said Celayeta.
Kylah is much taller than the rest of her teammates and has played goalie most of the year. She doesn't care where she plays it is all for the love of the game.
"After a hard day at school or I am super stressed, soccer is something to get away too. It is something to escape too and I just love the sport,"said Celayeta.
