CMU Men's Basketball: DeGeorge ready for challenges ahead

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Heading into 2018 Colorado Mesa Men's basketball will have a new man on the sidelines with Mike DeGeorge taking over a head coach. He is taking over for Andy Shantz who resigned after a 11-17 season last season.

DeGeorge will have seven players returning this upcoming season that saw major playing time a year ago. Four out of the five starters from a year ago will be back including the two top scorers in Connor Nichols and Emilio Acedo.

"We are going to just take it one step at a time. You got to build a great culture and establish a work ethic with your players. You never know if a player with be able to handle the new scheme or vice versa,"said head coach Mike DeGeorge.

Colorado Mesa will be looking for their first winning season since the 2015-2016 season when they went 21-9.
