GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) CMU's Brooke Hodgson and Kyle Leahy earned honorable mentions for the RMAC Scholar Athlete of the Year award.
In order to be eligible for the award you have to compete in a conference championship and have at least a 3.30 GPA.
Hodgson held a 3.39 GPA while majoring in kinesiology/k-12 education.
Hodgson was part of the RMAC regular season and tournament champion softball team leading the nation in RBI's, doubles and total bases. She was named RMAC Offensive Player of the Year and was selected as a First Team All-American by three different organizations.
Leahy maintained a 4.0 GPA while studying kinesiology.
He was taken by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 17th round of the MLB Draft. Leahy was also a First Team All-RMAC pitcher after tying for the team lead with 85 strikeouts and seven wins.
Not to mention, he was the RMAC Academic Player of the Year and the RMAC Summit Award winner.
