DENVER, Colo.-- Happy birthday Peyton Manning! The 2-time Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos quarterback turned 40-years-old Thursday.
After capping his fourth season as a Denver Bronco with a victory in Super Bowl 50, Manning retried earlier this month after an 18-year NFL career.
Manning learned last week he will be immortalized with a statue in front of Indianapolis Colts' Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts won their only Super Bowl with Manning in 2007.
The five-time NFL MVP said at the press conference last week in Indianapolis he is looking forward to some free time for now.
"I think the one thing I want to do is take my time. I think the biggest mistake I could do is rush into something," Manning said. "I haven't had a fall off in maybe 25 years, something about that has an appeal."
Manning has not made public any plans for his 40th birthday celebration.
