Over this past weekend more than 180 swimmers from across the State of Colorado traveled to Grand Junction to compete in the 2017 Masters Swimming Association Short Track State Championship.
"Master swimming is swimming for anybody over the age of eighteen,” Vice Chair of Colorado Masters Swimming, Debra Butler says. “So we have all ages here. These are swimmers who either swam in college or high school. And some people that just started swimming for fitness and started competing."
This marked the second time Grand Junction and CMU has hosted the event.
The three day event consisted of 23 different events which were broken down by a variety of different relays and age groups.
"It has been awesome,” head coach of the Thornton Masters, Brian Hoyt says. “The site is great, the people are great, and it’s incredible."
