Main Anchor/Reporter




We are seeking an experienced anchor to join our award-winning news team at KKCO 11 News, the NBC affiliate in Grand Junction, Colorado. You will co-anchor our evening newscasts (5/6/10) Monday through Friday.

KKCO is owned by Gray Television, which operates in 44 markets. Our current co-anchor is leaving this position for one within the company in a larger market.

The ideal candidate will have a strong on-air delivery, and also embrace social media / having a presence on digital platforms, including writing for our website,

Our anchors are involved in the community and involved in the newsroom. The person we hire must have a positive attitude and be an ambassador for the station by making personal appearances at community events. The ideal candidate will also be a coach to our younger reporters and producers. You will be expected to turn special reports in and out of sweeps, as well as live report & field anchor during breaking news and community events and produce newscasts on both a regular and fill in basis. Bottom line: we’re looking for a leader—someone who doesn’t hesitate to make decisions and get the job done and someone who can work closely with the rest of the team to create engaging newscasts. This is a perfect position for the journalist who wants to be #1 in a small, but competitive market. We are the news leader in the Grand Junction market. We’re located just a few two hours from Denver, and our outdoor recreation and mild climate draw people from across the country to our area.

Pre-employment and random drug testing are a condition of employment. Must possess a valid driver`s license with a good driving record.

Requirements also include: excellent news judgment, strong broadcast and AP writing skills. A degree in Journalism or Communications. Applicants should have a strong work ethic, the ability to multi-task, work under and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with ENPS, Sony Vegas, Sony XDCAM cameras and Clickability Dynamic Site Platform preferred.
