GRAND JUNCTION - David Henry only allowed two hits and struck out nine batters as the Delta Panthers shutdown the Palisade Bulldogs at Suplizio Field on Tuesday afternoon 11-0.
Palisade had a tough time getting the bats going after missing more than two weeks of action because of weather. The last six Bulldogs' games were cancelled because of the wintery spring that has blanketed the Western Slope.
Delta (7-2, 5-0) continues its dominance in the Western Slope League and remain unbeaten in league play after the mercy rule win.
Palisade (1-4, 1-2) gets right back to action with a night game against the Paonia Eagles on Tuesday night at Suplizio Field. The Bulldogs made the late scheduling change to help compensate for the previously cancelled games.
