DELTA, Colo. - This may be the season that the Delta Panthers football team gets back to the state playoffs.

The number one ranked Steamboat Springs Sailors outlasted the pesky Panthers 36-27 on Friday night.

Delta scored on a touchdown pass from Austin Watson to Ethan Kraai near the end of the second half to keep things close 17-14 in the loss.

Delta's next game won't be any easier. They will hit the road on Friday, September 18 for a Western Slope League battle at Glenwood High School.
