2009 Western Slope All-Regional Softball Team

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - (KKCO) The 2009 Western Slope Sports Broadcasters & Sportswriters All-Regional Prep Softball Team was announced Sunday afternoon.

Mikayla Duffy of Central High School was named player of the year. Duffy was 13-1 with a 1.00 ERA in 84 innings this season. She had 91 strikeouts and just 21 walks. The Junior also hit .672 with 5 HR and 56 RBI.

Scott Else, also of the Central Warriors, was named Coach of the Year. Else led Central to a 20-1 record, and the number 2 seed in the 5A State Tournament in his first season.
