GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- With the stuff that Delta's Ethan Kraii had on Thursday night, not too many had hope for Palisade. But Kraii ran into some serious trouble in the sixth inning and the Bulldogs came all the way back from six runs to win 10-8.
The sixth inning had everything. Two controversial calls, one costly error, eight runs, and one big comeback. After a one out Delta error, the Bulldogs took advantage. Jordan Salazar had an RBI single, followed by a Jeremy Brannon two-run double, and a Mike Seriani game-tying two run single. After the tying run scored, the entire Palisade dugout came to celebrate the tie game. The home plate umpire immediately called an out because the Palisade team had too many players out of the dugout during a live play. But after getting together, the umpire crew decided to issue a warning.
This extended the inning for Pete Lelich. He singled to bring home Tate Herland and give the Bulldogs the lead for good.
Palisade improves to 14-5 overall and 11-3 in league play to win the WSL. Delta drops to 11-5 overall and 9-3 in league.
