GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Delta girl's basketball team claimed a three-way co-title in the WSL-leading by beating Palisade 60-44 on Tuesday night. On the boy's side, Palisade was able to overcome an early deficit to defeat the Panthers 47-34.
With the win on the final regular season game, the Delta girls (17-5, 10-2) finish the year tied with Glenwood Springs and Moffat County atop the 4A WSL. The Palisade girls drop to 7-15 overall and 2-9 in league.
The Palisade boys (10-12, 6-5) used Kane Gunther's 21 points to propel them to a 13 point win in the season finale. The Panthers came out on a 6-0 run, but they could not keep that momentum throughout the evening.
