Looking at the records of the 5A district playoff teams, Fruita would appear to be a shoo-in for a top 10 seed and possibly a host team. Instead, CHSAA gave the Wildcats a shockingly low No. 22 seed.
After winning their seventh straight, the Grand Junction Tigers finally crack the top-10 of the Denver Post / 9 News 5A high school football poll. Palisade, Olathe and Hotchkiss all moved up in their respective polls, as well.
A win is a win, but this one was a little tougher to get than it should have been. The Delta Panthers (5-3) defeated the Battle Mountain Huskies (1-7) 25-19 in overtime on Friday.

Midway through the regular season, the Denver Post and ColoradoPreps.com deliver our high school football rankings. The Grand Junction Tigers (4-1) are not ranked in either poll, despite knocking off No. 10 Fountain Fort Carson. The Tigers' only loss came against unbeaten Highlands Ranch.
