The USDA will cover the cost of meat pulled from district–51 school menus.

School officials announced yesterday that the vendor that provides beef to local schools had distributed some of the recalled meat. As a result, school officials have decided to pull all beef products from school cafeterias, until the U.S. Department of Agriculture clears them.

They say the move is only a precaution. They don't believe any of the recalled beef made its way into Mesa County schools.

At this point the district doesn't know when the vendor will be able to provide new beef.
