A Colorado lawmaker wants to make it easier for parents to afford school supplies.

Republican state representative Jerry Sonnenberg is proposing a tax–free holiday for back–to–school shopping.

The bill would create two four–day holidays where stores could choose not to collect sales tax on items relating to school. Sonnenberg says this will give struggling families a break on the school supplies they need.
